Safety Alerts

You should not use methyldopa if you are allergic to it, or if you have: liver disease (especially cirrhosis)
or a history of liver problems caused by taking methyldopa
Do not use methyldopa if you have used a MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days
A dangerous drug interaction could occur
MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine, and others

Important Warnings

ferrous sulfate
or other medicine that contains iron
