Ceftazidime Pentahydrate are the derivatives of Ceftazidime. It is of Semi Synthetic origin and belongs to Cephalosporin. It belongs to Peptidoglycan synthesis inhibitor pharmacological group on the basis of mechanism of action and also classified in Antibiotic, Cephalosporin-3rd Gen pharmacological group. How to Take It

Adult · IV,IM
1 to 6 g — 8 hourly
or twice daily if needed.

Child · IV
30 to 100 mg/kg — As recommended.
In two to three divided doses

150 mg/kg — As recommended.
To maximum of 6g daily

Ceftazidime can cause serious or life-threatening allergic reactions
You should not use ceftazidime injection if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic, such as: cefadroxil , cefdinir, cefoxitin , cefprozil , ceftriaxone , cefuroxime , cephalexin , Keflex, Omnicef, and others
avibactam, relebactam, sulbactam, tazobactam, vaborbactam, and others
or amoxicillin (Amoxil, Augmentin , Moxatag), ampicillin , dicloxacillin , oxacillin , penicillin, and others
Tell your doctor if you have ever had: an allergy to any drug (especially penicillin)

Side Effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction (hivesitchingfeeling light-headedwheezingdifficult breathingswelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (feversore throatburning eyesskin painred or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling). Ceftazidime injection may cause serious side effects. Call your doctor at once if you have: severe stomach paindiarrhea that is watery or bloody (even if it occurs months after your last dose)pale or yellowed skindark colored urinefeveror weakness

Storage
Dry Powder for Inj Store Below 40°C. Protect from Sunlight. Inj (reconstituted soln) Store at room temperature or refrigerator. Use within 7 days if refrigerated and within 18-24 hrs if kept at room temperature.
