Clindamycin (HCl), Clindamycin (HCl) are the derivatives of Clindamycin. It is of Semi Synthetic origin and belongs to Deoxylincomycin. It belongs to Antibacterial (Proetin synthesis inhibitor) pharmacological group on the basis of mechanism of action and also classified in Antibiotics pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Clindamycin is 479.50. It is weakly acidic drug, 10.73% solution of the drug is isotonic and Its pKa is 7.7.

How to Take It

Adult · IM, IV

300 to 600 mg — 6 hourly

Should not Exceed 4.8g/day

Adult · PO

150 to 450 mg — 6 hourly

Should not Exceed 1.8g/day

8 to 16 mg/kg — 6 hourly

16 to 20 mg/kg — 6 hourly

such as succinylcholine

or vecuronium. Use with caution. Clindamycin is metabolized predominantly by CYP3A4 hepatic enzymes

and to a lesser extent by CYP3A5
