What is Devomycin?
Uses
It is used to treat bacterial infections.
How It Works
For an adult, give IM inj in upper outer quadrant of buttocks or mid-lateral thigh. Deltoid muscle may be used but only if well developed. In children, give injection only in mid-lateral thigh.

Renal impairment, avoid use in children less than 8 years, unless no alternative (deposition in growing bone and teeth, by binding to calcium, causes staining and occasionally dental hypoplasia)
Important Warnings
Hepatic impairment, SLE, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness may be increased), systemic lupus erythematosus (may be exacerbated), avoid exposure to sunlight or UV light, risk of super-infection
