Gentamicin (Sulphate) are the derivatives of Gentamicin. It is of Semi Synthetic origin and belongs to Aminoglycoside. It belongs to Protein synthesis inhibitor, pharmacological group on the basis of mechanism of action.
How to Take It

Adult · Intra Thecal
4 to 8 mg — As recommended.
As Required

3 to 5 mg/kg — As recommended.
In 3-4 divided doses for 7-10 days. Doses vary according to indication.

0.3 % — 6 hourly
1-2 drops

1.5 mg/kg/dose — As recommended.
For prevention of becterial endocarditis. NOT to exceed 80 mg with ampicillin (1-2g). 30 minutes prior to procedures.

You should not use gentamicin if you are allergic to gentamicin or similar antibiotics such as amikacin, kanamycin , neomycin, paromomycin , streptomycin , or tobramycin
To make sure gentamicin is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have: kidney disease
asthma or sulfite allergy
myasthenia gravis
a nerve-muscle disorder
Important Warnings
Gentamicin can harm your kidneys, and may also cause nerve damage or hearing loss, especially if you have kidney disease or use certain other medicines
Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions and all the medicines you are using
If you need surgery, tell the surgeon ahead of time that you are using gentamicin
Side Effects
