Alendronate is the derivative of Alendronate (Na). It is of Synthetic origin and belongs to Biphosphonate. The Molecular Weight of Alendronate (Na) is 326.13.
How to Take It

Adult · PO
10 mg — 24 hourly
Must be taken atleast 1/2hr before the first food, beverage or medication of the day with plain water only. Patients should receive supplemental calcium and vitamin D, if dietary intake is inadequate.

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed. Alendronate is taken either once daily or once per week

Safety Alerts
Renal impairment with GFR <35 ml/min, oesophageal abnormalities, stricture, achalasia or inability to remain upright for 30 min after dosing, hypocalcaemia
Important Warnings
Active GI bleeding, atypical femoral fractures, duodenitis, dysphagia, exclude other causes of osteoporosis, gastritis, history (within 1 year) of ulcers, surgery of the upper gastro-intestinal tract, symptomatic oesophageal disease, ulcers, upper GI disorders
Treat hypocalcaemia or vitamin D deficiency first
Warn patient to report any symp-toms such as difficulty in swallowing, retrosternal pain or worsening heartburn, and to discontinue immediately
