How to Take It

Adult · PO
500 to 3000 mg — 12 hourly
Frequency may be increased upto 3times/day, if needed. Gradually increase upto 2-3 g/day.

Safety Alerts

Insulin-dependent diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, pre-coma and coma, severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, diabetic ketoacidosis, cardiac or respiratory failure, recent MI, administration of iodinated contrast materials
Discontinue for 48 hours before and after elective surgery

Important Warnings

Risk of lactic acidosis
discontinue immediately if metabolic acidosis suspected
Monitor renal function at least annually
