How to Take It

5 to 10 mg — 24 hourly
Use 2.5 mg/dose QD PO, in small & fragile geriatric patients or those with hepatic insufficiency.Maximum dose: 10 mg/24hr

Active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases >3x the upper limit of normal

Heart failure, impaired hepatic function
perform liver function tests before initiating treatment & periodically thereafter, history of liver disease, discontinue drug if markedly elevated CPK levels occur or myopathy is diagnosed or suspected, risk factor predisposing to development or renal failure
