Safety Alerts
You should not take this medicine if you are allergic to mirtazapine
Do not use mirtazapine if you have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days
A dangerous drug interaction could occur
MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, and others
To make sure this medicine is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had: low white blood cell counts
Important Warnings
Hepatic or renal impairment, cardiac disorders, diabetes mellitus, elderly, history of bipolar depression, history of seizures, history of urinary retention, hypotension, psychoses, susceptibility to angle-closure glaucoma or increased intra-ocular pressure, organic brain syndrome, diabetes, angina, recent MI, prostatic hypertrophy
Monitor patients for suicidal ideation
Discontinue if jaundice occurs
Dose increases may be detrimental in patients who develop akathisia
Withdraw gradually
