How It Works
Via drip tubing in D5W or NS or Compound sodium lactate. Not to be added to infusion container, ad-minister via an infusion pump through a Y-piece into a central catheter.
How to Take It

Adult · IV Inf
0.5 to 1 mg/hr — As recommended.
For first 2 hrs. then 2mg/hr 5-14 days

Adult · PO
60 mg — 4 hourly
Start within 4 days of subarachnoid hemorrhage and continued for 21 days

Safety Alerts
You should not use nimodipine if you are allergic to it
Some medicines can cause unwanted or dangerous effects when used with nimodipine
Your doctor may change your treatment plan if you also use: nefazodone
an antibiotic -- clarithromycin , telithromycin
antifungal medicine -- itraconazole , ketoconazole
Important Warnings
Cerebral oedema, raised intracranial pressure, renal impairment, cirrhosis, hypotension (Infusion only)
Monitor BP Nimotop infusion is incompatible with PVC
Side Effects
