How to Take It

Important Warnings

Solution of calcium chloride is irritant and caution should be taken to prevent extravasation during intravenous administration
Calcium chloride should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease or any allergy, pre-existing cardiac arrhythmias, diarrhea, malabsorption or diseases associated with elevated vitamin D concentrations such as sarcoidosis
Avoid taking more doses than recommended
Generally calcium salts should be avoided in patients with calcium renal calculi
Plasma-calcium concentrations should be monitored closely in patients with renal insufficiency and during parenteral administration and if large doses of vitamin D are used

Side Effects

The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Calcium Chloridewhich give rise to further complications include HypotensionSinus bradycardia. Calcium Chloride produces potentially life-threatening effects which include ComaCardiac Arrest. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Calcium Chloride therapy.
