You should not take oxcarbazepine if you are allergic to oxcarbazepine or eslicarbazepine
Tell your doctor if you have ever had: liver disease
mood problems or suicidal thoughts
or an allergy to carbamazepine ( Carbatrol , Tegretol )
Some people have thoughts about suicide while taking oxcarbazepine
Important Warnings
Renal or severe hepatic impairment, cardiac conduction disorders, heart failure, hyponatraemia, elderly, hypersensitivity to carbamazepine
Monitor sodium levels in patients at risk prior to and during therapy
Cardiovascular disease
monitor weight in cardiac insufficiency or heart failure
Monitor for skin reactions
withdraw immediately if occur and do not restart therapy with oxcarbazepine
Avoid in acute porphyrias
Withdraw gradually
