Cefotaxime Na is the derivative of Cefotaxime. It is of Semi Synthetic origin and belongs to Cephem carboxylate. How to Take It

Adult · intra abnominal infection
3 to 6 g/dose — 24 hourly

Adult · infection due to multiresistant organism in 2 to 4 divided doses.
1.5 to 6 g — As recommended.

Adult · prophylactic use to redeuce postoperative infections
1 to 4 g — 24 hourly

Adult · for bone and joint infection
2 to 12 g — 4 hourly

0.5 to 1 g — 24 hourly
GONOCOCCAL INFECTION.

2 to 4 g/dose — 12 hourly
Frequency may be increased to 3 times/day. for uninary tract infection.

You should not use cefotaxime if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any type of cephalosporin antibiotic (cefdinir, cefalexin, Keflex, Omnicef, and others)
Tell your doctor if you have ever had: an allergy to penicillin
a stomach or intestinal disorder such as colitis
or heart problems
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Important Warnings
You should not use cefotaxime if you are allergic to cefotaxime or another cephalosporin antibiotic ( cefdinir , cefalexin, Keflex, Omnicef , and others)
Side Effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction (hivesdifficult breathingswelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (feversore throatburning in your eyesskin painred or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling). Cefotaxime may cause serious side effects. Call your doctor at once if you have: severe stomach paindiarrhea that is watery or bloody (even if it occurs months after your last dose)burningirritationor skin changes where the injection was givendark urinejaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)a seizurefever

Dry Powder for Inj Store at room temperature, Below 30°C. Protect from Sunlight and Heat. Prefrozen Inj Store Below -20°C. Freezing is recommended. Thawed Store at room temperature or refrigerator. Use within 10 days if refrigerated and within 24 hrs if kept at room temperature.
