How It Works

Intermittent infusion over at least 60 min at a final conc not to exceed 5 mg/ ml. Administration of antihistamines just before the infusion may also prevent or minimize Red man syndrome.

How to Take It

Adult · IV Inf
500 mg/ml of water — 6 hourly
Dose should be administered at no more than 10 mg/min or over a period of 1 hour.

Child · IV Infusion
0.25 mg/kg.min — 8 hourly
For 60 Minutes

Monitor blood levels, blood counts, urinalysis, and renal function tests
Monitor auditory function in elderly
