How It Works
Intermittent infusion over at least 60 min at a final conc not to exceed 5 mg/ ml. Administration of antihistamines just before the infusion may also prevent or minimize Red man syndrome.

Take vancomycin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Taking more of vancomycin will not make

You should not vancomycin if you are allergic to it
To make sure vancomycin is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had: an intestinal disorder such as inflammatory bowel disease , Crohn's disease , or ulcerative colitis
hearing problems
or if you are receiving any intravenous (IV) antibiotics
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Important Warnings
Impaired renal function, previous hearing loss, elderly
Monitor blood levels, blood counts, urinalysis, and renal function tests
Monitor auditory function in elderly
