Diacerein also known as Diacetylrhein. . It is of Semi Synthetic origin and belongs to Anthraquinone derivative. It belongs to Bone Metabolism pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Diacerein is 368.29.
How to Take It

Adult · PO
50 to 50 mg — 12 hourly
Take with food. If CrCl is less then 30ml/min then reduce the dose to 25mg per day.

Diacerein is contraindicated in conditions like Pregnancy,Lactation,Hypersensitivity to anthraquinone derivatives
Important Warnings
Dose modification is required in mild to sever renal insufficiency (50% dose reduction in sever renal failure)
Monitor CBC, LFT and urinanalysis every 6 mth
Side Effects
The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Diacerein include Diarrhea.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Diacerein are more or less tolerable and if they become severethey can be treated symptomaticallythese include NauseaVomitingDiarrheaRashesPruritusEpigastric painDiscoloration of urine.
