How It Works

Calcium Folinate also known as Calcium Leucovorin. It is of Synthetic origin. The Molecular Weight of Calcium Folinate is 473.44. It is weakly acidic drug.

How to Take It

Adult · IV
75 mg — 12 hourly
Treatment of overdaosage of folic acid antagonists: This dose is followed by 12 mg IM every 6 hours for 4 doses.

Adult · PO
15 mg — 24 hourly
Treatment of megaloblastic anemia. Dose should not exceed 1 mg daily when given IM.

Safety Alerts

Side Effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to calcium gluconate: hivesdifficulty breathingswelling of your facelipstongueor throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: little or no urinatingswellingrapid weight gaina light-headed feelinglike you might pass outslow or irregular heartbeatsor high levels of calcium in your blood-- nauseavomitingconstipationincreased thirst or urination

Drug Interactions

Calcium can make it harder for your body to absorb certain medicines. If you take other medications
take them at least 2 hours before or 4 or 6 hours after you take calcium gluconate. Tell your doctor about all your current medicines. Many drugs can interact with calcium gluconate
especially: baloxavir marboxil (Xofluza)
digoxin (digitalis)
an antibiotic
or other forms of calcium. This list is not complete and many other drugs may interact with calcium gluconate. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medicines
vitamins
and herbal products . Not all possible drug interactions are listed here.
